ATLX Teams Up With KJOC

ATLX TEAMS UP WITH THE KERLAN-JOBE ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC IN STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO PROVIDE WORLD-CLASS CONTENT AND COUNSEL FOR SPORTS INJURIES AND SPORTS MEDICINE

KJOC and ATLX Take Everyday Athletes Behind the Scenes into the World of Sports Injuries and Advanced Treatments

LOS ANGELES, CA, SEPTEMBER 9, 2013 – ATLX (“Athletics, Training, Lifestyle”), the only 24/7 sports entertainment network fully dedicated to everyday athletes and athletic lifestyle, announced today a strategic partnership with the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic (KJOC).  The partnership provides ATLX with deep background, expertise and experience in sports medicine and sports injuries as well as access to expert insight from KJOC’s highly respected team of physicians.
“While KJOC is famous for its treatment of professional and elite athletes across all major sports, they are also pioneers in arthroscopic surgery and ground-breaking research. We are excited to provide KJOC’s extensive skills and knowledge to our world of everyday athletes, which comprise a significant proportion of KJOC’s patient community,” said Jacob Arback, president and CEO, ATLX. “With our KJOC partnership, ATLX viewers will have special access to KJOC’s staff of world-class sports doctors, surgeons and fellows.”
The partnership will kick off with a new video series that features KJOC sports doctors breaking down the most common sports injuries for elite and everyday athletes alike.  KJOC physicians will also advise ATLX from behind the scenes on its original entertainment productions.  In this role, they will provide a high standard and benchmark for discussions and portrayals of sports injuries as well as their treatment and the road to recovery.
“Our relationship with ATLX allows KJOC a new way to reach and engage with active everyday athletes, from beginners to weekend warriors to recreational enthusiasts and to provide the best possible information and guidance,” said Woody Runner, CEO, KJOC.
Sports medicine was not a recognized specialty when Dr. Robert K. Kerlan started his practice in 1950. Having an avid interest in sports, he was named the team physician for the Dodgers when they moved to Los Angeles in 1958. In 1965, his friend and former colleague at Los Angeles County General Hospital, Dr. Frank W. Jobe, partnered with Dr. Kerlan, co-founding the Southwestern Orthopaedic Medical Group located in Inglewood, California. In 1985, the name was changed to the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.
ATLX will launch its sports entertainment television network in 2014 with an extensive slate of original entertainment and informational programming, including reality, news/talk, biography, documentary, competition formats, lifestyle, technology, sports medicine and performance cooking.  While the major sports networks do an impressive job of delivering live sporting events and the experience of being a fan, ATLX delivers a destination lifestyle network and the experience of being an athlete.
